Falluja -- the city that became the symbol of Iraqi resistance to the US occupation. In April 2004, the US launched a major assault involving thousands of troops on the mostly Sunni city. During the siege, which lasted nearly a month, around 730 people were killed, and some 2,800 wounded. What turned the "city of mosques" into the "city of resistance"? How did US troops carry out their attack on Falluja? And what was the impact on the city's residents? To discover what had actually happened inside the besieged city, Toshikuni Doi, a freelance journalist, visited Falluja with a camcorder in May 2004, ten days after the end of the siege.
